Struggling with some serious painting-withdrawal symptoms at the moment.  Out college projects have been primarily research-led lately - or 3D based.  Which is turning out to be enjoyable and all, but if I don’t get my brushes (and, seemingly, acrylics) out frequently, I start getting twitchy and fear I’m not progressing in the sphere I’d like to.  Going to have to keep on top of...

I have to apologise for being so quiet on the posting front lately.  My laptop had an unfortunate encounter with a mug of coffee — a fatal encounter, it turns out (I got the pink flickering screen of death - not blue! - and fizzing sounds.  You can be sure I’m never going to take any liquid near Eve II ever, ever again.)

This is getting a bit holistically interconnected. →
…That uncanny, jubilant moment when you realise an artist you’ve been following on tumblr is attending the same art school as you are when you recognised her work in the second year studio.  Everyone should check out this lovely lady.  Her information illustration on geothermal energy is cracking!

Reading this helped as well. →
I’m so relieved!  I’ve (finally) reached the critical number of “bad” drawings in my sketchbook to no longer be precious about what I do in it, or what it looks like.  (I’ve been chastising myself for being too precious with it since October.)  The process can just roll now.

Oh my jelly buttons.  the-little-redhead makes you a hundred.  I shall have to think up something special for this.

Gee, guys, there’s nearly a hundred of you!  (I wonder how much this has to do with Bookspaperscissors’ new directory!)  I’m really honoured.  I’d better do something half-decent before Christmas.

I… I’d better say hello to everyone.  Hello followers new and old!  I’m currently trying to get over being giddy with happiness at being featured on the Illustration tag, and I’m simply so pleased you guys liked my snow bunnies enough to follow me.   Discussing with classmates the other day what Tumblr would be like if blogs were houses, I invited them to tea with me and...

One of our tutors last year was so right about me; if painting’s going well for you, it’s letting you know you should paint more.  As soon as I got the acrylics out at started pushing them around, swirling up colours, I swear I started to feel better.  ( Although I am a little concerned my “insane” palette is also my “happy” palette. ) I’m starting to get...

We’re having my snow rabbits printed as our family Christmas card.  Though this is only a small scale exposure, it warms the cockles of my heart to know all our friends and relations will receive the picture!
